Wedding Breakfast

Wedding Breakfast Cocktail PianistWhilst wedding breakfast musicians will provide a wonderful atmosphere to complement the dinner, your guests must still be able to talk easily with each other. A fine balance required, but easily achievable when using professional musicians.

We advise our clients to have instrumental music rather than an ensemble that includes a vocalist. Guests may feel uncomfortable talking over a singer feeling obliged to sit in silence!

A small jazz band or classical ensemble works well for gatherings of 40 or more, whilst a cocktail pianist or harpist will suffice for a lesser number of guests.

If holding your wedding breakfast in a marquee, you will need to allow for the rather dry acoustics. If space allows, then a reasonably sized ensemble of musicians will make sure the music can be heard by everyone. For the same reason you may wish to consider hiring a small PA system, so that your guests can hear the speeches clearly.Wedding Breakfast Small PA For Speeches

If you have a DJ booked for the evening reception, the provision of a microphone for the speeches may be possible. An early set up fee will need to be negotiated when booking.

Remember, all venues now require visiting musicians to have adequate public liability insurance with electrical equipment PAT certified. Kaleidoscope will provide you with the necessary documentation required.

Useful tip: The key word to successful musical accompaniment during dinner is ‘background’!
