Inspired by tango, jazz and contemporary music, Tango Siempre have developed their own unique and eclectic style of tango. Their repertoire includes the intoxicating rhythms and melodies of 1930’s Buenos Aires, the beautiful nuevo tango of Astor Piazzolla, powerful new works by members of the group, and innovative commissions from composers as diverse as Pablo Ziegler (pianist from Piazzolla’s quintet), Huw Warren (winner of Radio 3 Innovation in Jazz Award 2005) and Will Gregory (of Goldfrapp). Tango Siempre have given over 600 performances since their formation in 1998 at venues including the Purcell Room, Sadler’s Wells, ArtsDepot, Riverside Studios, the Lowry, Wales Millennium Centre and at major arts festivals in Cheltenham, Bath, Salisbury, Newbury and Exeter.
